Calance, Inc. is seeking a VP, Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering in Midtown West, NYC. The role leads a cloud-first transformation, owning enterprise AWS architecture, 24x7 operations, and guiding internal engineers and partners.

You will drive AI-focused data platforms and Azure Virtual Desktop in a high-impact, regulated finance environment. The position involves shaping cloud strategy, migrating workloads, and managing cloud providers and costs.

Competenze

• 8–10 years of enterprise infrastructure or cloud architecture experience.
• Hands-on design of enterprise-scale AWS environments.
• Experience with Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
• Proven leadership of cloud migration or transformation programs.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience in financial services or regulated industries.

Our Client: A leading financial services organization modernizing its technology to power secure, always-on digital services is seeking a VP, Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering. This role offers the chance to lead a cloud-first transformation in a high-impact, mission-critical environment.

Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

Role Summary

Shape the future of our client's infrastructure as you lead the move to a cloud-first operating model. You will own enterprise AWS architecture, guide 24x7 infrastructure operations, and direct internal engineers and external partners. You will also build the foundation for AI-driven development, modern data platforms, and Azure Virtual Desktop. This hands-on leader will directly influence resilience, security, and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute cloud strategy, architecture standards, and operating models, including AWS Landing Zones, networking, IAM, and disaster recovery
• Lead cloud migration and infrastructure modernization programs
• Establish governance for cloud security, Infrastructure as Code, and incident and change management
• Serve as senior technical escalation point for major infrastructure incidents
• Own cloud cost management, forecasting, and chargeback practices
• Lead cloud and operations teams and manage MSPs, systems integrators, and cloud providers
• Guide architecture for Azure Virtual Desktop and enterprise VDI services

Ideal Candidates Will Have

• A track record of building high-performing teams while staying hands-on in design and incidents
• Experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry

Required Skills/Experience

• 8–10 years of enterprise infrastructure or cloud architecture experience, including significant leadership
• Hands-on design of enterprise-scale AWS environments as a technical design authority
• Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation
• Proven leadership of cloud migration or transformation programs
• Proven vendor management, including SLA/KPI oversight and SOW management
• Experience supporting mission-critical systems in 24x7 production environments
• Bachelor's degree

Other Skills

• Entra ID/Active Directory, FSLogix, and AVD architecture
• Data lake, ML, or generative AI infrastructure

Important Notes

• Base pay range: $160K–$185K, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
