Qualifications

  • 12+ years in AI/ML, data science, or AI product development with senior leadership responsibility

  • Advanced degree or equivalent in CS/ML/engineering or related field

Responsibilities

  • Translate company priorities into a focused AI product and capability roadmap
  • Prioritize initiatives by value, feasibility, risk, adoption requirements, and measurable outcomes
  • Define product ownership, success measures, stage gates, and lifecycle decisions
  • Lead development of AI products, agents, retrieval systems, analytical models, and workflow automation
  • Establish reusable architecture for orchestration, evaluation, monitoring, security, and human review
  • Integrate AI solutions with governed enterprise and clinical data
  • Develop AI-enabled study monitoring, recruitment, medical review, document intelligence, regulatory drafting, and scientific analysis
  • Ensure domain experts retain accountability for clinical, scientific, regulatory, and quality judgments
  • Implement standards for privacy, security, validation, transparency, access, monitoring, and acceptable use
  • Recruit and lead AI scientists, AI engineers, and product-minded technical staff

Alzheon, Inc. is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing a broad portfolio of product candidates and diagnostic assays for patients suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. Our lead Alzheimer’s clinical candidate, ALZ-801 , is an oral agent in Phase 3 development as a potentially disease modifying treatment for AD. ALZ-801 is an oral small molecule that fully blocks formation of neurotoxic soluble amyloid oligomers in the brain. Our clinical expertise and technology platform are focused on developing drug candidates and diagnostic assays using a precision medicine approach based on individual genetic and biomarker information to advance therapies with the greatest impact for patients.

Position Overview

Alzheon is seeking an execution-oriented AI leader to serve as Vice President, Artificial Intelligence, turning our AI strategy into production capabilities, adopted workflows, and value we can measure. Reporting to the Chief Data & AI Officer, you will lead the AI portfolio, building the technical platform, algorithm implementation and delivery, and our responsible-AI operating model across clinical, regulatory, scientific, and business functions.

The incumbent will be the driving force behind the integration of Alzheon’s agentic development, selection of appropriate use cases for machine learning and other AI methodologies, and the incorporation of solutions into everyday operations to develop solutions and data that are powered by AI for clinical, business, and regulatory purposes. In partnership with data engineering, the incumbent will be a driving force behind the identification and development strategy for appropriate datasets that feed Alzheon’s AI platform.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience in computer science, machine learning, statistics, engineering, or a related field
  • 12+ years in AI/ML, data science, or AI product development with senior leadership responsibility
  • Success delivering AI products into production and driving sustained adoption
  • Deep knowledge of machine learning, generative AI, LLMs, retrieval, evaluation, and production operations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or regulated-industry experience
  • Experience with agentic systems, MLOps/LLMOps, enterprise knowledge platforms, and privacy-preserving architectures
  • Experience applying AI to clinical development, regulatory operations, or biomedical research
