Cook Children’s Health Care System (Cook Children’s) seeks an experienced, collaborative executive to serve as its next Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer (VP/CISO). This is a unique opportunity to lead cybersecurity efforts at one of the nation’s leading pediatric healthcare systems.

Information security is a key area of focus for Cook’s board and senior executive team. As such, the VP/CISO is a pivotal hire, with extensive visibility across the health system. The VP/CISO will report to the Senior Vice President, Chief Digital Information Officer (SVP/CDIO) and will be a key member of the SVP/CDIO leadership team, providing the strategy and vision to continue the development of a comprehensive information security program. This position will be tasked with the continued elevation of the security program as a highly service-oriented and recognized partner with privacy, legal, compliance, business, and clinical operations. The VP/CISO will also collaborate closely with legal and compliance teams on all HIPAA, contracting, and other complex needs.
The VP/CISO will also be responsible for fostering a culture of security and enhancing educational initiatives. In this capacity, the VP/CISO will play a crucial role in risk mitigation and addressing any potential needs to maintain a secure environment. The VP/CISO will lead the information security group in addition to the networking teams. The VP/CISO will ensure the security strategy aligns with the goals of Cook and the IT organization.
The ideal candidate for the VP/CISO position will be a dynamic executive with a track record of success leading information security, preferably in a complex healthcare setting. The individual will be viewed as a trusted advisor who is genuine, collaborative, and operational focused. This position requires a results driven visible leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to develop relationships at all levels of an organization. The VP/CISO will have the ability to advance a premier information security program and lead change in a growing and transforming health system.
