Vice President of Adult Services — Full-Time | Massachusetts | May Institute

May Institute is seeking a compassionate, strategic, and data-informed Vice President of Adult Services to guide the growth and excellence of our adult day and residential programs. This senior leadership role blends mission-driven leadership with strong operational and financial acumen, ensuring that every individual we support receives high-quality, person-centered care while programs remain sustainable and impactful.

You will oversee program operations across multiple locations, lead a team of directors, and partner with executive leadership to use data to inform decisions, drive quality improvement, and shape the future of adult services at May Institute.

What You’ll Do
  • Champion Person-Centered Care – Ensure services respect individual preferences, promote dignity, and empower those we support to live meaningful, independent lives.
  • Use Data to Drive Quality – Monitor key program indicators such as satisfaction, engagement, and service utilization to continuously enhance outcomes.
  • Foster Program Excellence – Guide the delivery of evidence-based services that meet or exceed regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Support and Develop Leaders – Mentor and empower program directors to build engaged teams, solve operational challenges, and deliver consistently excellent care.
  • Steward Resources Wisely – Oversee budgets and resources to ensure programs are financially sustainable while prioritizing quality of care.
  • Advance Innovation and Growth – Identify trends and emerging needs, using data to inform strategic decisions and expand services.
  • Build Collaborative Partnerships – Strengthen relationships with families, state agencies, funders, and community partners to enhance opportunities for those we serve.
  • Represent May Institute – Serve as an ambassador at local, regional, and national events, highlighting our outcomes and best practices.
What You Bring
  • Education – MBA or other advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Proven Leadership Experience – 7+ years of senior leadership experience in adult services or other human services settings. Experience supervising a dispersed residential system is required.
  • Operational and Financial Acumen – Experience using data dashboards, budgets, and KPIs to guide decisions and measure success.
  • Commitment to Quality – Deep knowledge of person-centered planning, regulatory compliance, and evidence-based service models.
  • Collaborative Leadership Style – Skilled at building strong, inclusive teams and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strategic Perspective – Ability to balance day-to-day operations with long-term vision and growth planning.
