Job Description

The role of Vice President, Ad Sales Revenue & Market Development, Entertainment will report directly into the Executive Vice President and will be responsible for collaborating with cross functional NBCU teams including Sales, Planning, Data, Measurement & Insights, Finance, Brand Partnerships, Marketing and Streaming & Digital representing the Entertainment brands for sales strategy and revenue growth. Entertainment brands currently include NBC Prime, NBC Late Night, Bravo, USA, E!, E!News Online, Oxygen, Syfy, Universal Kids, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Access Hollywood and Access Daily as well as Syndication off net programs. The primary purpose of this role is to assist in the development of strategic positioning and manage the delivery of the Entertainment divisions linear and digital revenue goals as well as content priorities while aligning with the full portfolio of NBCU products and platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of reporting and analysis of key sales brand metrics for entertainment properties to provide better sales forecasting and internal communications.
  • Work with all key ad sales divisional stakeholders to gain insight on our revenue targets, capacity, sell out levels and sales packaging strategies.
  • Deep understanding of the competitive marketplace for future and real time decisioning.
  • Understand content priorities that align with the channel, client and agency needs.
  • Knowledge of sales strategy to drive core and ancillary revenue opportunities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate strategies to internal and external stakeholders that will assist in the production of sales tools and resources.
  • Suggest creative packaging strategies to move under sold networks and dayparts.
  • Flag where we need to fill units in undersold programming.
  • Report on demand, pipeline and forecasting.
  • Advise on sales need for materials and activations to merchandise our content, networks, products in the marketplace for channel leadership and clients.
  • Ability to provide POV on proformas and other finance questions.
  • Analyze data informed insights to recommend sales materials.
  • Review insights and measurement, ratings, etc to support trends to help in decisioning and provide support for goals.
  • Recommend events, conference participation, research opportunities that will support the growth of the entertainment properties.
  • Packaging recommendations for entertainment and across divisions.
  • Report on full entertainment brand sponsorship revenue, pipeline, booked.
  • Put together analysis to help make decisions using the latest research and marketplace tools.
  • Suggest prospect lists based on reporting such as share reports and competitive insights.
  • Work with third party channel partners to ensure consistent communication and updates as needed.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience within a television ad sales function, media/creative agency, or corporate strategy/business development function.
  • 5+ years linear television multi-platform Sales Strategy/Analysis or Sales experience.
  • Experience on variety of categories and accounts.
  • Established network of contacts and relationships within the ad sales business community.
  • Demonstrated ability to curate strategic ideas and solutions that drive revenue, creating effective communication materials including presentation decks for executive leadership. Excellent writing and verbal presentation skills.

  • Strong collaborative skills and proven ability to work across functions and influence colleagues.
  • Broad knowledge of cross platform Entertainment media landscape and competitive set.

  • Deep understanding of strategic approach to media.
  • Persuasive communicator with a vision; proven ability to self-motivate, work independently as well as collaboratively and motivate and inspire a team.
  • Exceptional influencing skills and preferred experience working across many areas and levels of an organization.
  • Ability to create and streamline workforce effectiveness and workflow process.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to find solutions to challenging situations and see projects through to completion.
  • Ability to work through various internal reporting systems such as Salesforce, proprietary tools and resources.
Additional Requirements:

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range:$205,000 - $280,000 (SIC and long-term incentive eligible)
