Job summary

Stony Brook University seeks a senior leader to implement and advance the Renaissance School of Medicine's five-year plan for inclusive excellence. You will oversee cross-cutting programs in research, education, and clinical care, promoting a nurturing environment and measurable progress toward health equity.

The role requires a strong background in academic leadership, a commitment to diversity, and a track record of policy development, department-level leadership, and effective collaboration

Qualifications

• MD or PhD in a relevant field; ability to attain NYS license if MD and clinically active.
• Record of outstanding accomplishment in a discipline relevant to the academic mission of the Renaissance School of Medicine.
• Credentials and achievements that merit appointment as a professor or associate professor in the School of Medicine.
• Demonstrated experience and commitment to inclusive excellence and reducing health disparities.
• In-depth understanding of issues facing a diverse student, faculty, staff, and community.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Implementation of the RSOM's Strategic Plan on Inclusive Excellence across research, clinical and educational missions.
• Centralize and coordinate RSOM initiatives on inclusive excellence and health equity.
• Train and develop RSOM faculty, staff and learners to meet goals in inclusive excellence.
• Cultivate external partnerships to support inclusive excellence and health equity.
