Job summary

Nemours Children’s Health seeks a highly accomplished leader to serve as Vice Chair for Research and Programmatic Development in Pediatric Anesthesiology. This full-time role focuses on advancing research initiatives, developing innovative programs, including fetal anesthesiology, and guiding the department’s mission.

The role requires a track record in clinical operations and research, academic appointment consideration, and the ability to secure extramural funding while mentoring junior

Qualifications

• MD/DO or foreign equivalent required and licensed in DE/PA/NJ or eligible.
• Board certification in Anesthesiology required; pediatric anesthesiology subspecialty preferred.
• At least 5 years in clinical operations and research within pediatric anesthesiology in academic setting; teaching and program administration experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with department and institutional leaders to advance research infrastructure and program development, including fetal anesthesiology.
• Lead and coordinate research projects across the department and promote innovation and excellence.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and research integrity.
• Develop and implement programmatic initiatives to improve patient care and outcomes, including fetal anesthesia program development with the Advanced Delivery Unit.
• Mentor junior faculty and researchers; secure funding to support research activities.
• Present findings at national/international conferences and publish in reputable journals.
