Job summary

Penn State's Applied Research Laboratory seeks a Vibrations and Acoustics Research Faculty to join the Flow Acoustics Department in State College, PA. The role supports basic and applied research in flow-induced vibrations, turbulence, and related acoustics challenges, with collaboration across government and industry sponsors.

The candidate will design and execute experiments, analyze data, write reports and papers, and help develop proposals while building external relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in computational or experimental fluid dynamics and acoustics.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly in reports and presentations.
• Experience with multi-disciplinary, team-oriented collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, assemble, and operate test articles and experiments at ARL facilities and field sites.
• Acquire, analyze, and evaluate test data; perform hands-on preparation of experiments.
• Author reports, presentations, and papers for technical audiences.
