Job summary

Edge Fitness, LLC is seeking a vibrant Group Fitness Instructor to lead high-energy classes at our New Jersey clubs. You will deliver safe, motivating workouts and help members achieve results.

Must teach at least two classes weekly, hold a current group fitness certification (AFAA/ACE/NASM or CPT) and CPR/AED. You will build community, connect with members and support club management.

Qualifications

• 6 months experience teaching Group Fitness classes in a related discipline.
• Valid professional fitness certification in specific formats (Les Mills, Spinning, Zumba, Yoga, etc.).
• Nationally accredited Group Fitness Certification or CPT preferred: AFAA, ACE, AAAI, NASM.
• Current CPR/AED certification required.
• Outgoing, energetic and able to perform in front of an audience.
• Regular email and phone communication access.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of safe exercise techniques.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality member experiences through safe, effective and motivational classes.
• Demonstrate proper techniques and form that aligns with class descriptions while modifying intensity for members when necessary.
• Increase attendance through knowledge, skill and emotional connection.
• Willing to teach at least two classes a week.
• Create community through positive interactions before and after class.
• Address member concerns or direct to appropriate club management.
• Report equipment maintenance needs to club management.
• Drive excitement for classes and recruit members to join.
• Secure appropriate substitutes to ensure class coverage, per Edge policies and procedures.
• Maintain a growing social media presence to attract new participants to classes, special events, etc.
• Read staff communications and attend staff meetings on occasion as required.
• Maintain a professional attitude toward responsibilities, fellow instructors, club staff and members.
• Adhere to Group Exercise policies and procedures.
• Support and articulate the Edge Fitness mission statement.
• Maintain a healthy way of life.
