Job summary

Edge Fitness Clubs in New Jersey seeks a Group Fitness Instructor to deliver high-energy, motivational classes and ensure safe techniques. You will teach at least two classes weekly, engage with members, and help grow class attendance while maintaining professional standards.

Ideal candidates hold current CPR/AED certification, valid fitness certifications, and strong interpersonal skills to connect with members and staff.

Qualifications

• 6 months experience teaching Group Fitness classes in a related discipline.
• Valid professional fitness certification in specific specialty program formats (Les Mills, Spinning, Zumba, Yoga, Mat Pilates, Barre, etc.).
• Nationally accredited Group Fitness Certification or CPT preferred: AFAA, ACE, AAAI, NASM
• Must possess and maintain current CPR/AED certification
• Outgoing, energetic and able to perform in front of an audience
• Excellent interpersonal skills; knowledge of safe exercise techniques and ability to demonstrate them

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality member experiences through safe, effective and motivational classes.
• Demonstrate proper techniques and form that aligns with class descriptions while modifying intensity for members when necessary.
• Increase attendance through knowledge, skill and emotional connection.
• Willing to teach at least two classes a week.
• Create community through positive interactions before and after class.
• Address member concerns or direct to appropriate club management.
• Report equipment maintenance needs to club management.
• Drive excitement for classes and recruit members to join.
• Maintain a growing social media presence to attract new participants to classes, special events, etc.
