Korean Community Services (KCS) New Jersey seeks a part-time Adult Chorus Instructor to lead our adult choral program in Tenafly, NJ. The role focuses on directing rehearsals, teaching vocal techniques, and selecting engaging repertoire for adult learners of varying skill levels.

The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of teaching or conducting experience with adults, the ability to accompany on piano, and full professional fluency in English; Korean bilingualism is highly preferred.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Music or closely related field from an accredited institution.
1–2 years of instructional or conducting experience, with adults preferred.
Ability to accompany rehearsals on piano/keyboard.
Strong choral leadership and vocal pedagogy understanding.
Fluency in English; Korean bilingualism highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Direct engaging, structured rehearsals for adult choral singers.
Teach vocal techniques including breath support, posture, tone, diction, and vocal health.
Select diverse repertoire appropriate for adult learners.
Assess progress and adapt methods for varied skill levels and backgrounds.
Maintain attendance records and communicate schedule changes.
Prepare the ensemble for community showcases or recitals.
Oversee setup and breakdown of rehearsal space and equipment.
