Job summary

Elderwood at Burlington is seeking a compassionate Activity Leader to design and run diverse programs that engage residents in social, recreational, and cognitive activities. You will collaborate with the Activities team to build a calendar that fosters connection, participation, and joyful experiences.

Ideal candidates are creative, energetic, and outgoing, with strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in residents.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid New York Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Ability to build relationships with staff, volunteers, families and visitors.
• Inspire and motivate others; adapt activities to residents' needs.
• Understand residents' rights and needs; maintain physical stamina.
• English language fluency required for communication with residents and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate engaging activities for individuals and groups.
• Encourage resident participation while respecting interests and abilities.
• Create opportunities for socialization, friendship, and community.
• Lead programs supporting physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being.
• Assist with special events, holidays, outings, and resident experiences.
• Get to know residents and tailor activities to their interests and histories.
• Help create a welcoming, positive atmosphere throughout the facility.
• Collaborate with staff across departments to support meaningful experiences.
• Document participation and maintain activity records.
