Job summary

Probity in Chantilly, VA seeks an engineer with an active Top Secret/SCI clearance to support a hybrid-cloud mission infrastructure 24/7. You will provide Tier 2–4 support for IT products and coordinate engineering efforts in Windows/Linux servers, virtualization, and data center tasks.

You will manage Active Directory, DNS, DFS, DHCP, DISA STIGs, and work with Splunk, EPO, and ServiceNow to maintain security posture and meet sponsor requirements. On-site role with diverse IT projects.

Job description

The Sponsor's office is responsible for building and operating a hybrid-cloud mission infrastructure and services, hosting dozens of Commercial off the shelf (COTS), Government off the shelf (GOTS), and custom applications, as well as a large data lake. The system has on-premises components deployed at multiple data centers, as well as use of commercial cloud resources. The Sponsor requires a team with a diverse background and strong organizational skills to facilitate the accreditation and document systems deployments across the environment. The team will work in a 24 hour, 7 day a week environment and provide in-depth Tier 2 through Tier 4 level support and problem resolution for technology products and applications. They will lead and perform engineering efforts in the areas of Windows and Linux servers, workstations, storage, and virtualization; perform data center management tasks such as physical capacity management, hardware installation and commissioning, inventory, decommissioning and removal, and destruction; and coordinate engineering projects including performing technical risk assessment, de-conflict implementations, and resolve technical questions or conflicts. The team will gather performance and utilization metrics from infrastructure components and proactively inform the Sponsor when thresholds are me and maintain an accurate inventory for the Sponsor to include, but not limited to, accountable property and electronic network encryption devices. They will also manage and deploy infrastructure components such as installing cables and circuits and labeling cables, build and maintain desktop workstations and provide troubleshooting assistance and patching as needed, and perform Tier-3 engineering and support for virtualization infrastructure, consisting of virtual servers, virtual desktops, and automation solutions. They should be prepared to provide oversite and maintenance to Windows Group Policy, build and maintain Windows servers in an Amazon Web Service environment, and deploy and maintain configuration standards in accordance with Sponsor's security posture.

3. (Mandatory) Demonstrated experience performing configuration and management of VMware vCenter and VMware NSX-T

4. (Mandatory) The engineer will coordinate engineering projects including performing technical risk assessment, de-conflict implementations, and resolve technical questions or conflicts.

5. (Mandatory) Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining Active Directory, Domain Naming System (DNS), Distributed File System (DFS), and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)

6. (Mandatory) Demonstrated experience maintaining Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS) in accordance with security posture

7. (Mandatory) Demonstrated experience supporting and operations and maintenance of infrastructure environments

8. (Mandatory) Demonstrated experience working with Splunk, Check_MK, McAffee EPO, and BitLocker
