Veterinary Technician - Taconic Veterinary Center

Join us to apply for the Veterinary Technician - Taconic Veterinary Center role at Suveto.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Performing basic medical, diagnostic, and laboratory procedures under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian.
  2. Preparing exam rooms and assisting during appointments with veterinarians.
  3. Taking patient histories, performing physical assessments, and recording observations accurately in medical records.
  4. Educating clients on preventative healthcare and providing follow-up care.
  5. Communicating patient or client concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  6. Collecting blood samples via venipuncture, conducting in-house laboratory tests, preparing samples for outside labs, and communicating results to owners as directed by the veterinarian.
  7. Providing and monitoring nursing care, including medication administration and patient monitoring.
  8. Admitting and discharging patients following hospital protocols and educating clients about procedures.
  9. Cleaning and restocking exam rooms, treatment areas, and hospital wards.
  10. Proficiently using practice software for medication dispensing, record keeping, and labeling.
  11. Understanding and enforcing OSHA regulations and hospital safety standards.
  12. Performing diagnostic imaging as requested.
  13. Carrying out tech appointments like pedicures, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, routine lab work, and subcutaneous fluids.
  14. Assisting doctors in medical and diagnostic procedures, including placing IV catheters and managing fluid therapy.
  15. Assisting with anesthesia induction, maintenance, and post-operative care.
  16. Performing client callbacks and updates as needed.
