PetVet Care Centers' Plainfield Animal Hospital in South Plainfield, New Jersey is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our team and help deliver compassionate, high‑quality care. You will support hospital operations by taking vital signs, assisting with exams and surgery, handling medications, maintaining records, and ensuring patient and client communication.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with drawing blood, administering vaccines and medications, and handling animals.
• Knowledge of Antech and Idexx systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient examinations by taking vital signs, reviewing care plans, and assisting with diagnostics.
• Care for patients by administering medications, vaccines, and nursing care.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgeries with required supplies and restraints.
• Maintain accurate medical records and document patient conditions and changes.
• Communicate with pet owners about patient status as directed by the veterinarian.
• Keep hospital areas clean, sterilized, and organized; manage equipment and inventory.
• Follow all legal regulations and practice guidelines, and participate in ongoing education.
• Support overall operations and release pets to owners after ensuring grooming and safety.
