Merrimac Valley Animal Hospital in Amesbury, MA is looking for a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our collaborative, experienced team. You’ll play a key role in anesthesia, surgery support, patient care, and client communication, helping families understand treatment plans and aftercare.

Qualifications

• 3+ years veterinary technician experience; CVT preferred.
• Proficient in anesthesia support and dental procedures.
• Exotics experience a plus.
• Strong communication with clients and team.
• Calm under pressure, adaptable, reliable in busy times.

Responsibilities

• Partner with doctors to deliver patient care in appointments and surgical settings.
• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, lab tests, radiology, meds, and nursing care.
• Assist in surgical and dental procedures, anesthesia monitoring, recovery.
• Calculate drug dosages, CRIs, and anesthetic protocols.
• Educate clients on treatment plans and aftercare.
• Advocate for patients with low-stress handling techniques.
• Collaborate with a team to maintain efficient workflow.
