Responsibilities

  • Overseeing appointments and managing clients throughout their visit.
  • Participating with the Surgeon’s in-patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.

  • Executing, inducing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events.
  • Providing empathy, comfort, and unparalleled nursing care to all patients.

About the Job
  • Overseeing appointments and managing clients throughout their visit
  • Participating with the Surgeon’s in‑patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
  • Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates
  • Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient and procedural assessment such as radiography and CT
  • Executing, inducing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events
  • Accuracy in calculating and delivering anesthetic agents, fluids, and CRIs
  • Review and understanding of all medical records pertinent to patient care
  • Providing empathy, comfort, and unparalleled nursing care to all patients, being a strong patient advocate during the patient’s hospitalization
  • Maintaining all equipment on a per‑use basis ensuring the safety and best practice care of all patients
  • Providing extensive client communication and education upon patient admit and at discharge regarding post‑operative care medications
  • Ability to work occasional holidays and OT as needed
About You
  • Advanced knowledge along with preparation and administration of injectable and inhaled anesthetic agents
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written; organizational skills; proactive thinking and a positive attitude
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a veterinary specialty setting required
  • RVT, or VTS preferred but not required with right candidates
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long‑term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required
  • Positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected

Schedule

Tues‑Fri, 10:00am - 8:30pm

Bonus

$3,000 for licensed technicians

Benefits and Compensation
  • Base Pay: $34 - $38 USD per hour
  • $200 for being on call, plus an additional $200 if called in
  • $3.00/hr overnight and $2.00/hr weekend different (stacked)
