Job summary

Veritas Veterinary Partners is seeking a Veterinary Technician for the Surgery Department at Garden State Veterinary Services. The qualified candidate will assist with anesthesia and monitoring of patients, ensuring quality care in a collaborative team environment.

This role offers a competitive salary between $23 and $34 per hour, comprehensive health benefits, and paid time off. Candidates should have a CVT, LVT, or RVT credential or at least 2 years of technician experience.

Veterinary Technician – Surgery Department (Garden State Veterinary Services)

About GSVServices

Garden State Veterinary Services is a multispecialty practice located at 1200 Route 9, Woodbridge, NJ 07095. The practice offers boarded specialists in cardiology, internal medicine, surgery, radiology, and critical care. Additional services include ophthalmology, oncology, radiation oncology, neurology, dermatology, and radioactive iodine treatment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general anesthesia and sedated procedures
• Set up CRIs and calculate medical math
• Place IV catheters and institute fluid therapy
• Position appropriately for radiographs and understand radiation safety
• Provide quality, compassionate care for hospitalized patients
• Prepare and administer transfusions: blood and plasma
• Maintain accurate treatment sheets and anesthesia records
• Understand capnography, pulse oximetry, ECG and blood pressure monitoring
• Obtain and prepare various blood samples for diagnostic testing
• Provide client education on a wide range of at‑home care

Qualifications

• CVT, LVT, or RVT preferred, or a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a technician
• Comprehensive understanding of and experience with anesthetic monitoring
• Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens
• Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology
• Understanding of normal vs abnormal physiologic ranges
• Commitment to mentor and train veterinary assistants
• Ability to work well in a highly collaborative environment

Schedule

Wednesday – Saturday, 7:30 am – 6 pm or Wednesday – Saturday, 8:30 am – 6:30 pm

Salary

$23 / hr – $34 / hr, depending on skills, experience, and credentials.
