Garden State Veterinary Services (GSVServices) in Woodbridge, NJ is hiring an experienced veterinary technician for the Surgery Department. The preferred candidate will work alongside our surgeon and has anesthesia experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general anesthesia and sedated procedures
• Set up CRIs and calculate medical math
• Place IV catheters and institute fluid therapy
• Position appropriately for radiographs and understand radiation safety
• Provide quality, compassionate care for hospitalized patients
• Prepare and administer transfusions (blood and plasma)
• Maintain accurate treatment sheets and anesthesia records
• Understand and monitor capnography, pulse oximetry, ECG, and blood pressure
• Obtain and prepare blood samples for diagnostic testing
• Provide client education on at‑home care

Qualifications

• CVT/LVT/RVT preferred, or at least 2 years of experience as a technician
• Comprehensive understanding of anesthetic monitoring
• Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens
• Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology
• Understanding of normal vs abnormal physiologic ranges
• Commitment to mentor and train veterinary assistants

Schedule & Salary

Wednesday – Saturday, 7:30 am – 6:00 pm or Wednesday – Saturday, 8:30 am – 6:30 pm.

Salary ranges from $23 / hr to $34 / hr depending on skills, experience, and credentials.
