Surgical Rockstar Wanted!
Veterinary Technician – Surgery
Location: Mt. Laurel, NJ
Schedule: 4-day work week — more time for you, less burnout for all!
Are you an experienced veterinary technician who lives for the OR? Does monitoring anesthesia make you feel more focused than your morning coffee? If you're passionate about surgery, love a fast-paced environment, and want to be part of a collaborative and compassionate team — you might be exactly who we're looking for!
At HousePaws Mount Laurel, we do things a little differently. We started as a mobile practice and grew into a full-service hospital because our clients (and their pets!) couldn’t get enough of us. Now we offer top-notch traditional and integrative medicine, from surgeries and dental care to acupuncture and chiropractic services.
The Role
You’ll be the right-hand person to our veterinarians during surgery — monitoring anesthesia, prepping patients, assisting in procedures, and making sure every furry patient is comfortable, safe, and well cared for. You’ll also put your skills to use with:
- Pain management & patient recovery
- IV catheter placement & venipuncture
- Surgical prep & instrument sterilization
- Dental cleanings & radiology
- Pre- and post-op client communication
What We’re Looking For
- At least 2 years of veterinary technician experience (surgery experience a big plus!)
- Skilled with anesthesia and surgical monitoring
- Confident, calm, and compassionate — especially during surgical discharges
- A team player who brings positive vibes and supports their crew
- Someone who loves learning, sharing knowledge, and advocating for pets
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- A consistent 4-day work week – long weekends, anyone?
- A team that actually supports each other (no toxic vibes here)
- Use all your skills and continue growing in a collaborative setting
- Be part of an award-winning, forward-thinking hospital that values YOU
Benefits That Go Beyond The Basics
- Short-Term Disability & Life Insurance – 100% paid by us
- Medical, dental, and vision options (including 100% paid dental premium!)
- 401K with generous company match
- Paid time off – vacation, personal, sick days – all covered
- Fertility & family planning support (up to $30k!)
- Mental health support, physical therapy, and digital wellness programs
- Team member discounts for your own pets
- DailyPay – access your earnings anytime
- And yes, we’re LGBTQIA+ inclusive and proud of it
