Capital Veterinary Specialists is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

As a Veterinary Technician, you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our patients. Your work will include hands-on care, outpatient treatments, laboratory tests, and support services like admitting and discharging patients.

Role Responsibilities:
  1. Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  2. Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  3. Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act.
  4. Communicate with clients about pet health concerns and Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional services.
  5. Maintain relevant, comprehensive medical records with support of practice systems.
  6. Obtain health history from clients and maintain medical charts.
  7. Use safe restraining techniques, follow protocols, and keep treatment areas clean and organized.
  8. Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
  1. Prefer one year of recent experience in an emergency or specialty setting.
  2. Commitment to working within a team environment.
  3. Positive attitude.
  4. Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  5. Ability to multi-task in a busy setting.
  6. Professional demeanor and outgoing personality.
