Job summary

BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital is hiring a Surgery Veterinary Technician in California. The role offers competitive hourly pay, a sign-on bonus for qualified RVT candidates, and shift differentials for nights/weekends.

You will prepare patients for surgery, restrain them, place IV catheters, and support advanced imaging such as CT/MRI. A strong emphasis on mentoring and compassionate client care is highlighted.

Qualifications

• RVT candidates preferred or eligible for certification.
• Phlebotomy and basic radiography skills required.
• Willingness to mentor and train co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for surgery.
• Safely restrain patients for procedures.
• Place intravenous catheters in peripheral veins.
• Perform phlebotomy.
• Prepare slides for cytology.
• Proficiently perform digital radiographs.
• Monitor patients during anesthesia or while sedated.
• Perform advanced imaging such as CT scans and MRI procedures.
• Mentor and train other team members.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.

BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital is hiring an exceptional Surgery Veterinary Technician.

Pay: $24.00 - $49.00 / hour

$3,000 Sign-on bonus for qualified RVT candidates!

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.

*Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

For example:

Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential

Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Shift Differential

Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift Differential

As a Surgery Technician, you will:

• You prepare patients for surgery.
• You safely restrain patients for procedures.
• You place intravenous catheters in all peripheral veins.
• You perform phlebotomy.
• You prepare slides for cytology.
• You proficiently perform digital radiographs.
• You monitor patients during anesthesia or while sedated.
• You will perform advanced imaging such as CT scans and MRI procedures.
