Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• If non-credentialed: Enrollment in AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program a plus.
• Associate's Degree preferred.
• LVT, CVT, or RVT credential preferred.
• Minimum of two years as a veterinary nursing team member.
• Minimum of one year leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience leading teams within specialty, emergency, or referral veterinary medicine environments preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced specialty hospital environment.
• Fluent English skills (speaking and reading) required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a hands-on clinical leader while participating in patient care and departmental operations.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop nursing staff; promote accountability and teamwork.
• Manage daily workflows and staffing for efficient department operations.
• Create and adjust staff schedules based on patient volume and needs.
• Conduct interviews and support onboarding of new team members.
• Complete performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback.
• Oversee payroll processes, attendance, and PTO requests.
• Partner with hospital leadership on performance management and compensation recommendations.
• Collaborate with Clinical Trainer on educational initiatives and training programs.
• Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture and address conflicts.
• Ensure proper utilization of equipment and hospital resources.
• Support hospital initiatives and continuous improvement.
