Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Licensed Veterinary Technician- CVT/LVT/RVT (preferred)
• 5+ years of clinical experience
• Strong anesthesia skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and delegate
• Respond to communications promptly
• Attend leadership meetings
• Positive, motivated and dependable
• Willingness to work long/irregular hours

Responsibilities

• Manage workflow within the hospital.
• Manage associate schedules and call-outs.
• Collaborate with hospital management and supervisory teams on hospital progression.
• Conduct interviews for new hires.
• Support educational development of technicians and skills.
• Schedule and lead team meetings.
• Provide hands-on opportunities for staff development.
• Mentor and train technicians within the department.
• Resolve conflicts professionally and politely.
• Deliver quarterly performance feedback.
• Monitor day-to-day activities and engage support staff.
• Develop and refine clinical protocols.
• Ensure adherence to VCA policies and guidelines by all technical staff.
