Job summary

Friendship Hospital for Animals is seeking a credentialed veterinary technician supervisor to lead our Emergency and ICU teams in Washington, D.C. This hands-on clinical leadership role offers an opportunity to mentor staff, collaborate with veterinarians, and drive excellence in patient care.

You will supervise technicians and assistants, participate in department meetings, and contribute to hospital operations while ensuring adherence to best practices.

Qualifications

• Credentialed veterinary technician with licensure in any state (LVT/CVT/RVT).
• At least 3 years of experience in emergency and critical care veterinary medicine.
• At least 1 year of leadership experience in a related role.
• ECC specialty training (VTS) highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support veterinary technicians and assistants in Emergency and ICU.
• Collaborate with veterinarians and hospital leadership to uphold protocols and patient care standards.

About the role:

We are seeking a credentialed veterinary technician for a dynamic clinical leadership role in our Emergency and ICU departments. The ideal candidate is passionate about emergency medicine and committed to cultivating that same enthusiasm within their team. From the clinical floor, you will lead, mentor, and support veterinary technicians and assistants, working in close collaboration with veterinarians and hospital leadership to promote a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and top-tier patient care. You will also play an active role in inter-departmental meetings, helping to enhance hospital operations while ensuring compliance with established protocols and best practices.

Schedule:

This is a full time position. Four 10-hour shifts per week Wednesday - Saturday. Looking for AM and PM shift coverage.
