Job summary

VCA Blackstone Valley Animal Hospital in Uxbridge, MA is seeking an experienced Certified Veterinary Technician Supervisor to oversee clinic operations and lead our team of Veterinary Technicians and Assistants.

You will direct workflow, mentor staff, participate in interviewing and onboarding, refine protocols, and ensure adherence to VCA policies while delivering high-quality patient care. The role sits within a supportive hospital culture in a large network of hospitals.

Qualifications

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician position (CVT/LVT/RVT/LVMT).
• 5+ years of clinical experience in a veterinary setting.
• Team leadership experience is required.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Passion for veterinary medicine.

About The Role

As Veterinary Technician Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

• Directing work flow on the floor
• Cultivate an engaging work environment and maintain our strong hospital culture
• Work cohesively with hospital management and supervisory teams to aid in the progression of the hospital
• Help with the interview process for potential new hires and onboard all new associates
• Assists in the educational development of technicians and their skills
• Conduct staff meetings
• Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience
• Mentoring technicians within the department
• Resolve conflicts in a professional and humble manner
• Refining and implementing protocols
• Ensure that VCA polices, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff.

Having mastered the entire range of vet tech skills yourself, you are a role model for the team. You will work alongside our Veterinarians, Hospital Manager, and Assistant Manager to provide mentorship, ensure the hospital runs efficiently and fosters a winning environment.

Compensation

$28 - $32/ hr based on skillset, experience, and licensure status.

Qualifications

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician- CVT, LVT, RVT, LVMT (FL CVT Preferred)
• 5+ years of clinical experience
• Team leadership experience
• Passion for Veterinary Medicine
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
