Job description

Location: 1709 W Merchant St, Kankakee, IL 60901
VCA County West Animal Hospital is looking to add a Certified Veterinary Technician to our leadership team as a Technician Supervisor.
Schedule: Full-time opportunity, 4 x 10 hour shifts with rotating Saturdays.

Compensation: $23 - 26/hr, and pay range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field.

You will work alongside our Medical Director and Hospital Manager to provide mentorship, ensure the hospital runs efficiently, and foster a winning environment. You will have the opportunity to build your leadership skills and have a clear career path.

In addition to all Veterinary Technician responsibilities, duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Implementing department policies and procedures.
  • Scheduling staff and conducting team meetings.
  • Accurately handling and recording controlled drugs.
  • Interviewing, training and mentoring new and existing staff.
  • Delivering employee performance feedback.
  • Monitoring day-to-day activities and engaging with support staff.
