Job description

VCA Ark Animal Hospital looking to add an enthusiastic and proactive Certified Veterinary Technician to our leadership team as a Technician Supervisor.

VCA Ark has been part of the Avondale, Chicago community since 2003. We are expanding 4-doctor practice. Our hospital has been AAHA certified since 2007 and practices low-stress and fear-free techniques. We offer routine services from wellness care to surgical and dental procedures. We also offer more advanced procedures such as an on-call surgeon for orthopedics.

VCA Ark has a recently renovated facility and state-of-the-art equipment including ultrasound, digital x-ray, and brand new lab equipment. We have digital radiography; as well as up-to-date technology for easy patient check-ins.

Being a Technician Supervisor means you are a believer in the possibilities of high-quality veterinary medicine and patient care—with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen. You will work alongside our Medical Director and Hospital Manager to provide mentorship, ensure the hospital runs efficiently and fosters a winning environment. You will have the opportunity to build your leadership skills and have a clear career path.

In addition to all Veterinary Technician responsibilities, duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Implementing department policies and procedures.
• Scheduling staff and conducting team meetings.
• Accurately handling and recording controlled drugs.
• Interviewing, training and mentoring new and existing staff.
• Delivering employee performance feedback.
• Monitoring day-to-day activities and engaging with support staff.

Location: 3235 N Kedzie Ave, Chicago, IL 60618

The hospital is located in a quiet neighborhood, has quick access to public transportation (Blue line, I-90, and train station), and is within walking distance of several popular restaurants and breweries.

Compensation: $25 - 26/hr and pay range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available.
