Animal Emergency & Specialty Center - Knoxville seeks a compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our small, independently owned practice. You will work closely with a veterinarian and support our team in delivering high-quality, personalized care.

Responsibilities include assisting with exams, collecting lab samples, drawing blood, placing IV catheters, administering meds and vaccines, taking radiographs, monitoring patients, assisting with surgeries, and educating clients.

Qualifications

• Experience in a veterinary hospital or clinical setting.
• Comfort handling dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments.
• Compassionate, patient, and animal welfare minded.
• Works well independently as well as part of a small team.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and adaptable.
• Detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
• Kind with clients and coworkers.
• CVT/LVT/RVT credentials are a plus; experienced assistants considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with examinations and appointments.
• Collect and process laboratory samples.
• Draw blood and place/monitor IV catheters.
• Administer medications and vaccinations as directed.
• Take and develop/process radiographs.
• Monitor patients during procedures and recovery.
• Assist with surgical and dental procedures as applicable.
• Provide nursing care and monitor hospitalized patients.
• Maintain clean, organized treatment and patient-care areas.
• Educate clients about medications, nutrition, at-home care.
• Communicate compassionately and professionally with clients and coworkers.
• Help with the day-to-day needs of a busy veterinary practice.
