Job summary

Knoxville Pet Emergency Clinic is seeking an Experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to support our emergency team. You will assist veterinarians during examinations and surgeries, monitor anesthesia, administer medications, and help with client communication to ensure top-quality care for cats and dogs in the greater Knoxville area.

The clinic operates as an overnight and weekend emergency center with in-house labs, digital radiography, and advanced imaging.

Qualifications

• Licensed/Registered/Certified Technicians preferred but willing to consider experienced unlicensed technician as long as license is anticipated to be received in 6 months or less.
• A passion for working with animals and a genuine commitment to their well-being.
• Ability to handle and restrain animals of varying sizes and temperaments.
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
• Detail-oriented and capable of following medical protocols and instructions accurately.
• Physical capability to lift, carry, and restrain animals as needed.
• Basic computer skills for record keeping and communication purposes.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures by preparing equipment, supplies, and patients.
• Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals during surgeries and dental procedures.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinary staff.
• Maintain and sterilize medical equipment and instruments; ensure clean exam rooms, treatment areas, and kennels.
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with appointment scheduling, client check-ins, and check-outs.
