Job description

Veterinary Technician Per Diem - Overnight Emergency

Join our team as a part-time Veterinary Technician in our overnight Emergency Department at Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Eatontown, NJ. We are a multispecialty practice with advanced diagnostic tools and a collaborative, supportive environment.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Assisting with anesthesia and sedated procedures
  2. Setting up CRIs and calculating medical math
  3. Placing IV catheters and providing fluid therapy
  4. Positioning for radiographs and understanding radiation safety
  5. Providing nursing care for hospitalized patients
  6. Preparing and administering transfusions
  7. Maintaining treatment records
  8. Collecting and preparing blood samples
  9. Using mechanical ventilators for anesthesia
  10. Educating clients on at-home care

Qualifications:

  • CVT/LVT/RVT preferred; minimum 2 years experience; VTS highly regarded
  • Experience with anesthetic monitoring and laboratory processing
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and physiologic ranges
  • Team-oriented, with excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude, honesty, and a desire to learn and grow

Schedule: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and/or Saturday, 6pm - 2:30am or 6pm - 8am
