Animal Emergency of South Orange County (AESOC) is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our overnight emergency team in Mission Viejo, CA. You will support veterinarians and licensed technicians in high-acuity care, triage, monitoring, and critical patient management in a fast-paced hospital.

- Minimum of 3 years veterinary experience.
- Active California RVT license required.
- Emergency or specialty hospital experience preferred.
- Strong patient care and technical veterinary skills.
- Experience with patient monitoring, lab procedures, radiology, and treatments.
- RECOVER CPR certification a plus.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced emergency setting.
- Commitment to teamwork and compassionate patient care.
Responsibilities
- Support vets and licensed techs in high-quality emergency care.
- Perform treatments, diagnostics, monitoring, and nursing duties.
- Monitor ICU patients and communicate condition changes.
- Assist with triage and patient stabilization.
- Obtain histories and communicate with clients.
- Maintain accurate medical records.
- Safely restrain patients following Fear Free practices.
- Prepare and maintain treatment, surgery, and diagnostic areas.
- Perform labs, collect samples, and assist with diagnostics.
- Administer medications per state regulations and protocols.
- Collaborate with doctors and teammates for patient care.
- Participate in competency-based training and development.

We are seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our overnight emergency team.
- Support veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians in providing high-quality emergency and critical care.
- Perform treatments, diagnostics, patient monitoring, and nursing care as permitted under the California Veterinary Practice Act and hospital protocols.
- Monitor hospitalized and ICU patients, recognizing and communicating changes in patient condition.
- Assist with emergency triage and patient stabilization.
- Obtain accurate patient histories and communicate professionally with clients.
- Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
- Safely restrain patients while following Fear Free and hospital safety practices when appropriate.
- Prepare and maintain treatment, surgery, and diagnostic areas.
- Perform laboratory procedures, collect samples, and assist with diagnostics as directed.
- Administer medications and treatments as permitted by state regulations and hospital protocols.
- Collaborate with doctors and teammates to provide exceptional patient care.
- Participate in our competency-based training program and ongoing professional development.
- Minimum of 3 years of veterinary experience required.
- *Plus – You hold an active Registered Veterinary Technician license in the state of California
- Emergency or specialty hospital experience preferred.
- Strong patient care and technical veterinary skills.
- Experience with patient monitoring, laboratory procedures, catheter placement, radiology, and treatment administration preferred.
- RECOVER CPR certification is a plus.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced emergency environment.
- Passion for patient advocacy and continuous learning.
- Commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and compassionate patient care.
$25.00 - $40.00/hour
Eligible team members also receive:
- Overnight Differential: +$2.00/hour (10:00 PM – 8:00 AM)
- Weekend Differential: +$3.00/hour (Friday 6:00 PM – Monday 8:00 AM)
Differentials stack when applicable.
- Thursday, Friday, Saturday OR Monday, Friday Saturday
- 7:00 PM – 8:00 AM
