Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Glendale, AZ is seeking an Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our team. This full-time role covers overnights with shift options Mon Tue Thu 7a-7p or Wed-Fri 7a-7p and pay between $21.00 and $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.

A strong veterinary technician background is required and we offer night/weekend shift differentials and opportunities to mentor others.

Qualifications

• Emergency Veterinary Technician position with required veterinary technician experience.
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases and obtain vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and positioning.
• Proficient at phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters.
• Mentor and train other co-workers with patience and empathy.

Responsibilities

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Glendale, AZ is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Overnight Veterinary Technicianto join our team!

Position: Emergency Veterinary Technician

Work Schedule: Full-Time; Overnights

Available shifts: Mon, Tues and Thurs 7a-7p OR Wed-Fri 7a-7p

Pay: $21.00 - $30.00 / hr.

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through CareerTrax leveling system

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.

*Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

For example:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.50 Shift Differential

• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.00 Shift Differential

• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.50 Shift Differential

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce,monitorand recover anesthesia in patients and useanesthesia/monitoringequipment.

• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospitalincludingobtaining vitals such as temperatureheart rate, respiratoryrateand blood pressure.

• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.

• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heartand respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.

• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.

• Identify patients at riskforarrest and initiate CPR.

• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.

• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.

• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.

• Havea passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.

• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
