Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Glendale, AZ is seeking an Overnight Veterinary Technician to join our team. The role centers on emergency care, anesthesia oversight, radiography, and rapid triage during overnight shifts.

Qualifications

• Ability to induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients.
• Triage emergency cases and obtain vitals (temp, HR, RR, BP).
• Proficient in digital radiography and correct patient positioning.
• Understand normal ranges for vital signs and alert veterinarians as needed.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Glendale, AZ is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Overnight Veterinary Technician to join our team!

Position:

Emergency Veterinary Technician

Work Schedule

Full-Time; Overnights

Available shifts:

Mon, Tues and Thurs 7a-7p OR Wed-Fri 7a-7p

Pay:

$21.00 - $30.00 / hr.

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through CareerTrax leveling system

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.

*Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

For example:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.50 Shift Differential

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• H ave a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
