Eye Care for Animals Tampa is seeking a full-time Veterinary Ophthalmology Technician to join our Thrive Pet Healthcare team in Tampa, FL. You’ll support ophthalmic care, outpatient treatments, and anesthesia while delivering excellent client service.

Ideal candidates have veterinary technician experience, are comfortable with IV catheter placement, blood work, anesthesia monitoring, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary technician/assistant experience required.
• Licensed Technician preferred, but not required.
• Proficient in IV catheter placement, blood work, and IV, IM, and SQ injections.
• Proficient in monitoring anesthesia and operating monitoring equipment.
• Team player; eager to learn; thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills (email, documentation, data entry).
• Ability to multi-task with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist with outpatient treatments and laboratory tests.
• Support ophthalmic care and anesthesia monitoring.

Job Overview:

The Veterinary Technician is responsible for a variety of tasks related to customer service and patient care within the veterinary practice. Tasks include animal handling, pre, and post-operative patient care, creating and presenting financial options and estimates, accurately entering service charges into the client processing database, extensive client interaction, and preparing medications. Compensation is based on experience and skill set.

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with a hourly pay rate starting at $20 - $25 / hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
