Job summary

Animal Care Hospital of Walnut Creek is hiring a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and client service. The successful candidate will have LVT certification, animal handling skills, and knowledge of common diseases, with a commitment to animal welfare.

Responsibilities include assisting veterinarians with surgeries, anesthesia, exams, and radiographs, maintaining records, and ensuring a clean, safe hospital environment while following DEA/OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledge of common disease states and alert veterinarians to changes.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates
• Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Job description

Salary: $25.00-$35.00 dependent on skills and experience

Schedule: 4 days per week 10 hour shifts, on weekend day is required
