Job summary

Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency in Dunwoody, GA is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our Neurology team. You will provide advanced nursing care for hospitalized neurology patients and assist with neurologic evaluations, imaging, and anesthesia monitoring.

This role offers growth in Neurology, MRI/CT, and specialty patient care with experienced neurologists. Full-time hours are 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, and the practice emphasizes collaboration across specialties and compassionate client

Qualifications

• 2+ years of veterinary hospital experience.
• Strong foundation in veterinary nursing and patient care.
• Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring.
• LVT credential preferred; MRI/CT and specialty experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced nursing care for hospitalized neurology and specialty patients.
• Assist with neurologic evaluations, consultations, procedures, and patient monitoring.
• Monitor neurologic status, pain, mobility, treatment response, and recovery.
• Support patients with seizures, IVDD, paresis, paralysis, and other neurologic conditions.
• Prepare and monitor patients for anesthesia, MRI, CT, and advanced diagnostics.
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory diagnostics, medication administration, and anesthesia monitoring.
• Assist with post-operative care, rehabilitation, and high-acuity patient management.
• Collaborate with Neurology, Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, Anesthesia, and Diagnostic Imaging.
• Communicate effectively with clients and advocate for patients throughout their care.

Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency is looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our growing Neurology team in Dunwoody.

This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced neurologists and specialty teams while providing advanced nursing care for patients with seizures, IVDD, paresis, paralysis, neurologic emergencies, and complex post-operative needs.

What You’ll Do

Who We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of veterinary hospital experience
• Strong foundation in veterinary nursing and patient care
• Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory diagnostics, and anesthesia monitoring
• Candidates with experience in Neurology, Specialty Medicine, Emergency, Critical Care, ICU, Surgery, Anesthesia, or high-volume General Practice are encouraged to apply
• LVT credential preferred
• MRI/CT, advanced anesthesia, ICU, ventilator, or specialty experience a plus
• RECOVER CPR certification a plus
• Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and clinical judgment
• Veterinary Assistants with strong technical skills and an interest in Neurology are welcome to apply
