BluePearl Pet Hospital in Malvern, PA is hiring an extraordinary Medical Oncology Veterinary Technician!

Pay: $21.00 - $43.00 / hour

Shift: 4 x 10 hour shifts.

As a Medical Oncology Technician, you will:

• Perform physical exams and accurately monitor vital signs and other parameters.
• Understand normal lab and vital parameters, alerting the veterinarian to abnormalities.
• Perform phlebotomy and place peripheral intravenous catheters.
• Calculate basic medical math and prepare materials for chemotherapy administration.
• Safely dispense and administer oral and injectable chemotherapy agents.
• Check chemotherapy calculations and dosages.
• Prepare patients for chemotherapy infusion, including shaving and wrapping for IV catheter placement.
• Understand chemotherapy extravasation and appropriate responses.
• Manage oncology patients, including obtaining thorough histories and discharge instructions.
• Maintain knowledge of common veterinary terms, tumor types, and diagnostic protocols.
• Assist with anesthesia and monitoring, and stay current with CPR guidelines.
• Support hospital operations, including stocking and cleaning.
