Job summary

Qualifications

• Clear understanding of OSHA regulations and hospital safety standards.
• Assist doctors in medical and diagnostic procedures.
• Perform diagnostic imaging as requested by veterinarian.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist in appointments with doctors.
• Take client history, perform physical assessments, and record observations.
• Educate clients on preventative care and follow-up.
• Communicate client and patient concerns to the team.
• Perform venipuncture, run in-house labs, and prepare forms for outside labs.
• Provide nursing care and monitor hospitalized patients including medications.
• Admit and discharge patients following protocols and educate on discharge.
• Maintain clean, stocked treatment areas and hospital wards.
• Operate practice software for dispensing medications and generating labels.
• Follow OSHA and hospital safety standards.
• Perform diagnostic imaging and assist in anesthesia and surgery as needed.
• Assist in tech appointments (pedicures, ear cleaning, etc.).
• Place IV catheters and begin fluid therapy when required.
• Assist in induction & maintenance of anesthesia with the veterinarian.
• Support in recovery and post-op nursing care, and update clients.
