Job summary

BluePearl in Frederick, MD is seeking a Veterinary Technician Manager to oversee our Skylos Sports Medicine and VetUrgency clinics. You will lead a skilled nursing team, ensure high-quality patient care, and drive clinical excellence.

Schedule is flexible with mid-shift/evening availability and rotating weekend coverage. Compensation ranges from $37.36 to $58.40 per hour, depending on experience and advancement through our competency tool; VT credentialing eligible for higher compensation.

Qualifications

• Must have Veterinary Technician credentials and be able to supervise clinical staff.
• Strong leadership and communication skills are required to manage a nursing team.
• Experience in veterinary patient care and training staff is essential.

Job description

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Veterinary Technician Manager to oversee our Skylos Sports Medicine and VetUrgency clinics in Frederick, MD. These 2 clinics are connected and have offset hours of operation.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to inspire a skilled nursing team, drive exceptional patient care, and grow your career.

Schedule: Flexible sched; mid shift/evening availability needed with rotating weekend coverage.

Pay: $37.36 - $58.40 / hour

This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.

As a Veterinary Technician Manager, you will:

• Demonstrate proficiency as a Veterinary Technician or Advanced Patient Care Associate with their appropriate department.
• Creates effective working relationships with hospital leadership to ensure standards of care are understood, effectively communicated, and skill development within your team.
• Serves as a subject-matter expert and resource to Technicians and Assistance regarding daily operations, patient care, and skill development.
• Partners with the supervisors and the regional nursing trainer to help set up constructive, engaging, and forward-thinking training of the nursing staff.
• Plays an interactive role within hospital leadership to run the day-to-day operations of their nursing team.
• Serves as a mentor to staff by demonstrating positive work habits, effective clinical skills and business knowledge.
• Identifies conflicts in the workplace and seeks assistance in resolutions in order to create effective working relationships.
• Coach staff to create a culture of impressive performance and high productivity through pride in the vision of our work.
• Clearly communicates with team members to ensure consistency with understanding innovative ideas, changes in protocols, policies and impending changes that follow the vision of the company.
• Build positive relationships across the hospital and administration to facilitate an environment of teamwork.
• Implement and train process improvement initiatives.
• Document performance-related issues, assesses team members during quarterly conversations, annual performance reviews, and provides hospital leadership with recommendations related to performance management and discipline.
• Other jobs duties as assigned.
