CityVet in Bulverde, TX seeks an experienced Veterinary Technician Lead to enhance patient care and clinic efficiency. You will support veterinarians, streamline operating room to front office communication, and guide VT staff in daily practice.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in veterinary medicine.
• Surgical experience preferred.
• Ability to handle and restrain various dog breeds.

Responsibilities

• Ensures QC and accuracy of VT work, including case notes and chart records.
• Assists with staff scheduling and surgery rotation schedule.
• Maintains surgical skill set.
• Inventory, order and maintain adequate medical supplies.
• Interview, train and develop new VTs and Technician Assistants.
• Work with Practice Manager and Vet to resolve customer complaints.
• Support the Veterinarian and coordinate with front office staff.
• Assist the Client Service Specialist team as needed.
• Compensation in the range of $25-$35 per hour based on skills and performance.

Responsibilities

The Veterinary Technician (VT) Lead is responsible for maintaining excellent patient care and operational productivity by helping the Veterinarian leverage their time and efforts to meet the needs of their clients and patients. The Veterinary Technician (VT) Lead works to relieve the Veterinarian from technical work and administrative detail to achieve greater levels of efficiency in daily practice. Veterinary Technician (VT) Leads help facilitate and streamline communication from the operating room to the front office staff and most importantly, the client.

A day in the life:

• Ensures the Quality Compliance (QC) and accuracy of all Veterinary Technician (VT) work, including case notes and chart records, proper processing and entering of lab results, and identifies any discrepancies and works with the team to solidify a solution and correction
• Assists with the development and execution of the Veterinary Technician (VT) staff schedule and surgery rotation schedule
• Maintains surgical skill set and abilities
• Inventory, order and maintain adequate medical supplies in the facility Interview, train and develop new Veterinary Technicians (VT) and Technician Assistants (TA) to CityVet’s standards
• Work with Practice Manager and Partner/Lead Veterinarian to resolve customer complaints and arrive at appropriate resolutions
• Support the Veterinarian as needed and maintain a positive and cooperative relationship with other facility staff
• Assist the Client Service Specialist team when needed
• Compensation in the range of $25-$35 per hour based on skills and performance

Essential qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the veterinary medicine industry is required
• Surgical experience is preferred
• Knowledge and ability to properly handle and restrain various dog breeds
• Strong communication skills
• Multi-tasking ability, with strong attention to detail
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching
• Strong organizational skills
• Self-motivated & team-oriented
• High energy and fun-loving approach to life
• Ability to remain calm and empathetic in stressful/emergency situations
