Are you passionate about providing exceptional animal care and working alongside a dedicated team of veterinary professionals? We are seeking compassionate Veterinary Technician Assistants and Veterinary Technicians (Levels I - III) to join our team and assist in the treatment of large animals admitted to our hospital. You will support veterinary staff and help maintain a sanitary and well-organized service within the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital.
Minimum Qualifications
We are accepting applications for all levels, with immediate needs for Veterinary Technician Assistants and Veterinary Technician I.
Veterinary Technician Assistant: High School Diploma or equivalent, plus two years of experience in animal husbandry.
Veterinary Technician I: Associate’s degree in veterinary technology, biomedical science, animal science, or related field, or equivalent relevant education and experience.
Veterinary Technician II: Same as Technician I, plus two years of technical experience in veterinary medicine.
Veterinary Technician III: Same as Technician I, plus four years of technical experience in veterinary medicine.
Preferred Candidate Qualifications: Degree in Veterinary Technology, licensed Veterinary Technician in Texas, with experience in large animal veterinary hospitals, referral clinics, or specialty hospitals, especially with equine and food animals. Additional training in large animal medicine or emergency care is a plus.
Compensation & Work Schedule
Starting at $19.11/hour for Veterinary Technician I. Salary depends on qualifications. Various shifts available, including day, night, and weekends. Flexibility required for holidays, weekends, and on-call duties. These positions are essential during campus emergencies or closures.
