Qualifications

• Graduated from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology Program.
• Must be a licensed veterinary technician (LVT) in good standing.
• Maintains up-to-date immunizations related to the occupation (rabies, etc.).
• Knowledge of AVMA standards of accreditation and contemporary veterinary medicine.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience or teaching experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to safely handle and transport a variety of animals (dogs and cats).
• Flexibility in schedule to accommodate transports and lab sessions.
• Comfortable working around animals in a clinical/lab environment.
• Commitment to student-centered learning and inclusive teaching.

Responsibilities

• Instructs courses as needed by the department.
• Assist faculty in preparing and delivering laboratory sessions for veterinary technology courses.
• Provide technical and educational support to students during hands-on clinical skill development.
• Ensure laboratory spaces are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
• Maintain lab safety and adhere to biosafety and animal handling protocols.
• Help facilitate demonstrations and support student learning activities under instructional staff guidance.
• Coordinate and execute animal transportation to and from the SPCA Serving Erie County using a college-designated vehicle.
• Maintain transport logs, health records, and vehicle inspections in compliance with policies.
