Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Nashville seeks a knowledgeable Veterinary Technician for the Internal Medicine department. You will liaise with internists and clients, communicate histories and care instructions, and assist with endoscopy, ultrasound, and lab work.

Responsibilities include anesthesia monitoring, CRI infusions, radiology prep, and performing medical calculations. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills are required, with a focus on compassionate pet care.

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary technician in internal medicine or similar setting.
• Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.
• Experience with ultrasound, endoscopy, radiology, and lab sample handling beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between internists and clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, test results, and updates.
• Assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, radiology prep, and lab sample collection.
• Discharge patients with client education and insulin/fluids demonstrations as needed.
• Support with CRI infusions, anesthesia monitoring, and medical calculations.

As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technicians, you are a liaison between our internists and our clientsregardingpatient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations. Additionally, you will be assistingwith endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, takingx rays, and obtaining lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skillsrequired.

As an IM VeterinaryTechnician,you will…

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg,etc.).
• Induce,monitorand recover anesthesia
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up andassistwith endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean andmaintainequipment followingprocedure.
• Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
• Additionaljob duties as assigned.
