You’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our patients. Your life-changing work will range from facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory testing to supporting patient admissions, advanced diagnostics, treatments, and discharges.

Your Experience & Skills
  • Veterinary Technician licensure preferred
  • 1–2 years of clinical veterinary experience required
  • Internal Medicine or specialty experience preferred
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology Program preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Strong communication and client education skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced specialty and emergency environment
  • Experience with patient monitoring, IV catheter placement, laboratory diagnostics, blood collection, radiology, and advanced nursing care preferred

  • Surgery
  • Internal Medicine
  • Emergency & Critical Care
  • Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Our Internal Medicine department provides advanced diagnostic and therapeutic care for patients with complex medical conditions. The team collaborates closely with Emergency, ICU, and Surgery services to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.

You’re Willing and Able To
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients
  • Assist the Internal Medicine team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow
  • Prepare patients for diagnostics and procedures, including patient assessments, IV catheter placement, blood collection, and treatment preparation
  • Monitor patients during sedation, treatments, and recovery
  • Assist with advanced diagnostic procedures in accordance with Florida Veterinary Practice Act guidelines
  • Support endoscopy, ultrasound, and other Internal Medicine procedures as directed by the medical team
  • Communicate with clients regarding individualized pet health concerns, treatment plans, medications, and Thrive Membership options
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records utilizing hospital practice management systems
  • Obtain relevant patient histories and client information
  • Use safe restraint techniques and uphold hospital safety protocols
  • Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary treatment and laboratory areas
  • Mentor and support fellow team members while contributing to a positive hospital culture

Compensation

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience.

Hourly Pay Range: $22–$30 per hour
