Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Studio City, CA is hiring a Veterinary Technician for the Internal Medicine department. Pay ranges from $24.00 to $49.00 per hour, with additional shift differentials for nights and weekends.

The role involves client communication, lab work, and assisting with anesthesia, imaging, and procedures. The IM Veterinary Technician acts as a liaison between internists and clients, supports endoscopic and ultrasound work, and helps discharge patients with education.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Studio City, CA is hiring a Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine department!

Pay: $24.00 - 49.00 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through CareerTrax leveling system.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.

*Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift Differential

As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technicians, you are a liaison between our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations. Additionally, you will be assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking x rays , and obtaining lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required .

As an IM Veterinary Technician, you will...

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc. ).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
• Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
• Additional job duties as assigned.
