BluePearl Pet Hospital in Colorado is seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians for Swing Shift in a fast-paced ICU environment. This role involves anesthesia, radiography, triage of emergencies, and direct patient care on weekends.

Qualified candidates will induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia, perform phlebotomy, IV catheterization, and assist with feeding tubes and central lines. You will mentor staff and communicate effectively with clients while delivering exceptional pet care.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Veterinary Technician in an ICU or ER setting.
• Ability to induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia.
• Comfort handling emergency cases and critically ill pets.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases and monitor vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
• Interpret vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Proficient at phlebotomy and placing IV catheters in peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train coworkers; address client concerns with empathy.

Schedules available: Swing (Weekends required)

Payscale - APCA I - RVT I: $22.15 - $33.60 /Hr

As an Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• H ave a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
