Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1 year of veterinary technician experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years as Animal Care Technician and ALAT certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent with 3 years as Animal Care Technician.
• Graduation from a two-year veterinary technician program.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field and AALAS ALAT certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and researchers in diagnostic, surgical and preventative procedures.
• Observe and report abnormalities or injuries in assigned animals.
• Assist with postoperative care and monitoring.
• Maintain required records and data entry.
• Assist with inventory of medical and sterile supplies.
• Provide non-surgical technical assistance to researchers as directed.
• Participate in scheduling and study planning.
• May be required to work after hours or during weekends/holidays.
