Job summary

Animal Medical Center in Brookhaven, Mississippi, seeks a Veterinarian Technician to join a mixed-animal practice serving companion animals, farms, and large-animal patients. You’ll work with three veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to deliver compassionate care and hands-on training across preventive, surgical, diagnostic, and hospital care.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of veterinary experience, CVT/RVT/LVT credentials are a plus, and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of veterinary experience preferred.
• CVT, RVT, or LVT credentials are a plus.
• Weekend availability required.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of preventive care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow.
• Strong animal restraint and low-stress handling skills.
• Experience with laboratory sample collection and processing.
• Experience positioning and capturing radiographs.
• Anesthesia and surgical monitoring experience.
• Accurate medical record documentation and professional feedback reception.

Responsibilities

• Safely restraining veterinary patients using low-stress handling techniques.
• Triaging incoming patients and supporting hospital flow.
• Collecting and processing blood, urine, fecal, and skin samples.
• Setting up and processing laboratory tests.
• Obtaining accurate medical histories and maintaining records.
• Assisting with diagnostic imaging and radiographs.
• Providing nursing care and monitoring hospitalized patients.
• Administering medications as directed by the team.
• Preparing patients for surgery and assisting with procedures.
• Monitoring patients during anesthesia and recovery.
• Communicating treatment plans and care instructions with clients.
• Supporting veterinarians and staff to deliver compassionate care.
