Job summary

AmeriVet is seeking a veterinary technician to greet clients and patients, record histories, assist veterinarians, and manage inpatient care. The role includes restraint, sample collection, medication handling, and documenting in medical records.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of veterinary technician experience preferred.
• Venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
• Diagnostic imaging and in-house labs.
• Strong communication and client education skills.
• Flexible schedule including rotating Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients arriving for appointments or walk-ins and obtain weight and vital signs.
• Document patient visits in the medical record by obtaining and recording thorough patient history.
• Assist veterinarian with appointments (routine and urgent), including euthanasia under supervision.
• Restrain patients, collect lab samples, handle and dispense medications as directed by the veterinarian.
• Check out clients, schedule appointments, educate clients, and relay test results to doctor and clients.
